Work Permits During the School Year

Work Permit Coordinator

During the regular school year (when school is in session), all work permit requests are processed by the Counseling Office in 3-5 days. Please note: Work permits are not processed on campus during summer, Thanksgiving, winter, or spring break.
How to Apply:
- Complete the State of California Work Permit Application (see instructions below).
- Submit the completed application and required documents by emailing them to Mrs. B at aboyadzhyan@gusd.net.
- You may also bring them to the counseling office.
Work Permit Instructions:
- Complete the student section of the Work Permit Application with your personal and school information.
- Have your Parent/Guardian sign the application.
- Have your employer complete and sign the employer section.
- Once fully completed, scan and email Mrs. B the application along with:
- A copy of your Student ID or
- A state issued ID
- Include your cell phone number in your email.
Once all documents are received, your work permit will be issued. Please allow 3-5 school days for processing.
Eligibility Requirements:
To receive a work permit, students must be in good standing with:
- Grades
- Attendance
- Behavior
- Progress towards graduation

Important Reminder:
During school breaks (summer, Thanksgiving, winter, and spring), all work permits are processed by the District CTE Office. Please email your application and required documents to cte@gusd.net for issuance.
