Career & Technical Education (CTE)

WHAT IS CTE?

Career Technical Education (CTE) provides students with real-world skills, career exploration opportunities, and college preparation. These courses combine rigorous academic instruction with technical and occupational content, helping to enhance student achievement, improve graduation rates, and ensure college and career readiness.

CTE courses are structured into pathways, which consist of a sequenced series of courses designed to build technical proficiency and prepare students for future career and college opportunities.

A CTE pathway offers students a progressive learning experience through a structured sequence of 2-3 courses within a specific career field, culminating in a capstone or advanced course. Successful completion of a pathway may lead to industry-recognized credentials, certificates, or additional post-secondary opportunities.
