Posted Date: 10/13/25 (5:00 PM)

DREAM BIG, ACHIEVE MORE!

Principal’s Message:

At Hoover we encourage all of our students to “Dream Big, Achieve More!”

I encourage all of our students to strive to do their very best everyday, build lasting relationships, and be engaged in all activities.

Our 1st Quarter ends this Friday! Please remind your child to turn in all assignments and continue to excel academically!

At Hoover we believe all students should be respectful, responsible, and engaged everyday! Students are expected to be in class on time everyday and follow our cell phone and electronics policy. Violations of these policies will lead to consequences.

At Hoover, we continue to promote a College-Going Culture. Our mission is to ensure that all students graduate meeting the minimum requirements for college access. This will be accomplished through increasing access to rigorous course offerings and promoting academic engagement.

This month we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, where we celebrate history, tradition, and cultural contributions of our Hispanic and Latinx communities. Nearly 20% of our students identify as Hispanic or Latinx. We are thankful to these students for all of the contributions, richness, and culture they bring to school each day, which makes Hoover a better place!

Our Fall Athletics Season is in full effect. Please continue to support our Hoover Fall Athletic Teams- Football, Boys Waterpolo, Girls Tennis, Girls Volleyball, Girls Golf, and Cross Country. Additionally, our Hoover Marching Band and Pep Teams are in season!!

Our Hoover Marching Band had their first competition of the season! Our Band continues to dominate with a 1st Place finish in Division 3A, along with High Music Performance and High Percussion Tournament Champions across 13 different school bands. Congrats to our Hoover Marching Band and Coaches!!!

Our Hoover Boys Waterpolo took care of business against Glendale this past week at home in our new pool under the lights!! They enter the League Tourney in 2nd place!

Our Fall Concert featuring our Hoover Instrumental Music and Choir programs is this Tuesday, at 6:00 PM. Hope to see all of our Tornados and families in attendance!!

Attendance continues to be a focus at Hoover. Please ensure your child is at school everyday. We are also prioritizing students being in class on time and are conducting daily tardy sweeps to ensure students are in class from bell to bell.

As a reminder to all students and families, at Hoover we promote a safe and inclusive environment for all students and staff. We have no tolerance for any hate speech or hurtful language. Any students using such language will receive serious consequences.

As always, Tornados are Responsible, Respectful, and Engaged!

Streets, Art, SAFE

Streets, Art, SAFE is an exciting program that challenges high school students to use film, posters, and visual storytelling to educate their peers about traffic safety. It’s more than a competition—it’s a chance for young voices to lead change, inspire safer communities, and shine on a public stage. Along the way, students gain real-world skills in media, design, and visual communication—skills that look amazing on college and career applications.
