Sunday Message 10/5/25
Principal’s Message:
At Hoover we encourage all of our students to “Dream Big, Achieve More!”
I encourage all of our students to strive to do their very best everyday, build lasting relationships, and be engaged in all activities.
At Hoover we believe all students should be respectful, responsible, and engaged everyday! Students are expected to be in class on time everyday and follow our cell phone and electronics policy. Violations of these policies will lead to consequences.
At Hoover, we continue to promote a College-Going Culture. Our mission is to ensure that all students graduate meeting the minimum requirements for college access. This will be accomplished through increasing access to rigorous course offerings and promoting academic engagement.
This week on Monday, Stanford University will be on campus to present to interested students at lunch. This is a great honor to have Stanford on Hoover’s campus! Our Tornados are college-bound!!
This month we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, where we celebrate history, tradition, and cultural contributions of our Hispanic and Latinx communities. Nearly 20% of our students identify as Hispanic or Latinx. We are thankful to these students for all of the contributions, richness, and culture they bring to school each day, which makes Hoover a better place!
Our Fall Athletics Season is in full effect. Please continue to support our Hoover Fall Athletic Teams- Football, Boys Waterpolo, Girls Tennis, Girls Volleyball, Girls Golf, and Cross Country. Additionally, our Hoover Marching Band and Pep Teams are in season!!
A special shout out to our Hoover Boys Waterpolo team who is currently undefeated in league play and will be playing this week for the opportunity to wi a league championship. Good luck Tornados!!
Attendance continues to be a focus at Hoover. Please ensure your child is at school everyday. We are also prioritizing students being in class on time and are conducting daily tardy sweeps to ensure students are in class from bell to bell.
As a reminder to all students and families, at Hoover we promote a safe and inclusive environment for all students and staff. We have no tolerance for any hate speech or hurtful language. Any students using such language will receive serious consequences.
As always, Tornados are Responsible, Respectful, and Engaged!

Attention 11th Graders! You will be taking the PSAT on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. What is the PSAT? It is a standardized test that measures your skills in reading, writing, and math. It’s basically a practice version of the SAT that helps you get ready for college entrance exams.
Why is the PSAT important?
It’s practice for the SAT, which is often used for college admissions and scholarships.
It gives you a sense of your strengths and areas to improve before senior year.
High scores can qualify you for the National Merit Scholarship Program, which opens the door to recognition and financial aid.
How to Prepare? Here are some free resources to help you get ready:
College Board Official Practice
Khan Academy SAT Prep (linked directly to your College Board account for personalized practice)
Practice tests (printable PDFs and online) are also available on the College Board website.
Tips for Success:
Take at least one full-length practice test to build stamina
Review your mistakes and practice those question types.
Get a good night’s sleep and eat breakfast on test day.

Streets, Art, SAFE
Streets, Art, SAFE is an exciting program that challenges high school students to use film, posters, and visual storytelling to educate their peers about traffic safety. It’s more than a competition—it’s a chance for young voices to lead change, inspire safer communities, and shine on a public stage. Along the way, students gain real-world skills in media, design, and visual communication—skills that look amazing on college and career applications.
