Summer School 2025

First Semester: Begins June 16th Second Semester: Begins July 7th

📋 Now Available: If your student is taking summer school at Hoover, you can now view their summer school course request (course title only) in the Student and/or Parent Portal.

📅 Full schedules will be available on Monday, June 9th in the Student and Parent Portal.

This includes teacher names and room numbers.

👀 Second Semester Begins Monday, July 7: If your student is only enrolled in a second semester class and does not have a first semester course, they should report to Hoover on Monday, July 7th, not on the first day of summer school.

  • For example, students retaking a class originally taken during the second semester (like English 9-2, World History 2, or Integrated Math IIB) will begin on July 7.

  • Incoming 9th graders enrolled in intervention math or English may have the class during semester 1 or 2 — so it's especially important to check the schedule closely.

  • Please log in to the Student or Parent Portal to double-check your student’s schedule and avoid any first-day confusion.

Important Reminder: Be sure to check your final schedule again on Monday morning, June 16th before coming to school and again on Monday, July 7th. Schedules may change due to second semester grades, class size adjustments, or other factors.

📸 Double-checking your portal before coming to school on the first day matters! If you take a screenshot of your schedule, it must match what’s in the portal on Monday morning, June 16th. If not, your teacher will have to redirect you to the correct class.

📩 Questions? If you have questions about your class, please wait until Friday and then contact your summer school teacher directly.

✔All summer school classes including APEX will be held in-person. Classes have been assigned a Room Number, which you can find in the student or parent portal.

Students should report to their teacher’s classroom by 8:30 am on Monday, June 16th. Be sure to bring your Chromebook (if you have one), a backpack, and any other necessary school supplies.

Check your Google Classroom ahead of time for any announcements. If you do not receive an invitation, don’t worry, just go directly to your classroom. Your teacher will share their class code, if needed.

On Monday, June 16th and July 7th, Hoover staff and volunteers will be on campus to help students find their classrooms.

Chromebooks

Incoming 9th Graders, you will be able to keep the Chromebook you are assigned from Toll and Roosevelt for use in the summer and beyond. If you need one, let your summer school teacher know right away.

Rising 10th-12th Graders should already have their Chromebook. If you need one, let your summer school teacher know right away.

Attendance Policy

First Day Attendance is Mandatory! Students must be present on Monday, June 16th. If you do not attend the first day, you will be dropped from summer school.

📆 Students are allowed up to 3 absences. Missing more than 3 days will result in being dropped from the class and not receiving credit.

Keep in mind: One day of summer school = One week of regular school. Daily attendance is critical for earning credit.

By attending summer school, you are agreeing to follow the attendance
policy and all summer school expectations.
