At Hoover we encourage all of our students to “Dream Big, Achieve More!”
I encourage all of our students to strive to do their very best everyday, build lasting relationships, and be engaged in all activities.
At Hoover we believe all students should be respectful, responsible, and engaged everyday! As a reminder, all of our students have had their expectations assemblies held this past week. Students are expected to be in class on time everyday and follow our new cell phone and electronics policy. Violations of these policies will lead to consequences. This week Hoover will host two University visits. USC will be on campus on Thursday and UCSB on Friday!!! At Hoover our Tornados are College-bound!!!
Our Fall athletics season is in full swing Please support our Boys Waterpolo, Football, Girls Volleyball, Girls Tennis, and Cross Country teams throughout the season!!
Additionally, please continue to support our award winning Hoover Tornado Marching Band and our championship Pep Team.
Please save the date of Monday, September 16, 2024, as this is the first Coffee with the Principal at 8:30 AM and Tea with the Principal at 5:30 PM. Each month, I host a forum for parents to hear about exciting Hoover highlights. This month I will share our WASC accreditation timeline for this year, as we are set for our visit in March, along with reviewing Goal #1, how our school continues to serve as a professional learning community. The meetings take place in room 12101, I look forward to seeing you then!

The Fall Play is: "Puffs" by Matt Cox
Puffs is a parody of the Potter-verse. According to Concord Theatricals, Puffs is a "clever and inventive" play that follows the "perspective of three potential heroes just trying to make it through a magic school that proves to be very dangerous for children."
Auditions are next Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday

The Music Center’s Spotlight! - Accepting Applications!
Performance students can apply for The Music Center's Spotlight! It is open to Southern California high school students and is a FREE performing arts competition, scholarship and artistic development program available in seven different performing arts categories. Students of all skill levels are encouraged to apply! With Spotlight, you can: Develop and strengthen audition, presentation and performance skills. Receive feedback from arts educators and industry professionals and gain access to mastery classes with world-renowned artists. Apply here.
GUSD's College Knowledge Seminar series will continue on September 18, 2024, featuring the topic "Update on the UC/CSU Admissions Landscape." Whether you are new to the application process or need a refresher, this in-person presentation will walk you through the UC and CSU options and admissions updates.
