Hoover High School Counselors advocate for students, helping them build the skills, attitudes, and beliefs to thrive as lifelong learners and productive members of society. They guide students in discovering purpose, overcoming challenges, and ensure equitable academic, career, and social-emotional support while fostering a culture of success.

School Counselors provide a multi-tiered systems of support with culturally inclusive practices to address students’ academic, college/career, and personal/social development. In collaboration with students, families, staff, and the community, counselors facilitate a comprehensive program guided by the ASCA National Model. They deliver developmentally appropriate services directly or indirectly to help students build ASCA Mindsets & Behaviors for Success, improving achievement, attendance, and discipline.
